ASHFORD UNITED LADIES - PARTNERS WITH HER GAME TOO

Ashford United Ladies have partnered with Her Game Too, to help promote football as a
game for all and encourage other females into the sport.

Her Game Too was set up three years ago by a group of passionate female football fans,
who wanted to stamp out gender discrimination and misogyny in football and champion
women in all roles in the game.

The campaign has more than 100 volunteers at clubs across the country, who work to
ensure football grounds are welcoming and comfortable places for women to visit and play
at, coordinate activities and events promoting Her Game Too’s values and share positive stories of the achievements of women in football on social media.

Her Game Too has partnered with 74 out of the 92 Premier League and English Football League clubs, as well as hundreds of non-league and grassroots clubs, leagues, pubs and other organisations.

More than 50 clubs recently dedicated fixtures to the campaign around International
Women’s Day, to acknowledge and celebrate the many different roles females play in all
levels of football - from mothers supporting their children in pursuing professional careers, to
women working in off-the-pitch jobs and girls starting out in the game at grassroots clubs.

Jenny Newman, Ashford United midfielder, said: “We are proud to have partnered with this
fantastic organisation with the shared goal of promoting Football as a game for all. As
players we are committed to setting a positive example for all young Girls, as well and
encouraging women in other roles within the game.
“Hopefully through this partnership we
can break down barriers and leave a lasting legacy for the next generation!”

Paige Collins, Her Game Too Ambassador for Gillingham Football Club, said: "We are
delighted to welcome Ashford United Ladies to our campaign as Her Game Too partners,
alongside other Kent clubs including Ebbsfleet, Gillingham, Bromley and Canterbury Eagles.
"It's fantastic to see the number of women and girls playing football in Kent increase in
recent years, from 6,000 two years ago to more than 7,500 today.
“Having teams like Ashford United Ladies leading the way by promoting Her Game Too will
hopefully encourage even more females to get involved in football - whether that's as
players, coaches, volunteers or supporters.
"We are looking forward to working with Ashford United Ladies to promote our campaign’s
values, showing everyone that football is a game for all."
