Ashford began the game on top and went close on several occasions.
The reward for their persistence came first in the 24th minute and then in the 3lst minute when pressure on the opponents goal saw Daniel Lewis and Finn Harvey of Binfield present Ashford United with own goals.

Ashford United extended their lead 2 minutes later. Lanre Azeez latched on to a poor pass back, was too quick for the keeper and scored Ashford's third.

Having conceded three goals in just over half an hour, Binfield suddenly began to play and bring the game to the hosts. lt was no real surprise when they reduced the lead to 3-1, with some good interplay which was completed by Ben Stallard who gave Ashford's keeper Jacob Russell no chance.

Apart from a few flurries the second half belonged to Ashford United.
Johan Ter Horst scored the 4th after 62 minutes. Nine minutes later the excellent Noah Carney scored his first competitive goal for the club.
The rout continued in the 75th minute when a great diving header by Harvey Brand made it 6-1. Ben Gorham completed the scoring 2 minutes from the end of normal time.

All in all a satisfying day on the field marred by a very small attendance of 90, but at least those who did come to the game will have seen a very encouraging performance from their team.
