ASHFORD COMPLETE SIGNING OF ROB SAUNDERS

Ashford United is pleased to confirm the signing of Rob Saunders this afternoon.

The 26-year old is primarily a central defender but has also played his fair share as a full-back and a holding midfielder.

Saunders played for Sheppey United for a couple of seasons before securing a move to Ramsgate FC in 2019, where he stayed for a year.

Also having spells with Sittingbourne and Phoenix showcases the experience he has at this level.

“I’m really pleased to have brought Rob Saunders on board. He’s played at this level with the likes of Ramsgate and Sittingbourne and he’s a competitive player.” Warrilow said.

“I know he can take up various positions which is always something I’ve liked. We just need to get him fit now.

“Obviously some will have seen him introduced on Sunday against Herne Bay where he was given 20 minutes or so, but yeah, hopefully we will only get the benefits as he gets fitter.

“He’s a good acquisition for this club.” He finished.
