ASHFORD COMPLETE SIGNING OF SAM HIGNETT

Ashford United is pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Sam Hignett this evening.

Hignett, 18, is a product of the Dover Athletic youth academy and spent most of last season at Hythe Town.

His arrival means having another keeper who can provide friendly competition to Jacob Russell between the sticks.

“Sam is a young, but highly rated goalkeeper. He went out to America this year, but for one reason or another it’s not worked out and he’s back now.” Warrilow said.

“I believe he has the credentials to push Jacob [Russell] this season and we’re looking forward to working with him.” He finished.
