Kevin Watson Relieved Of Duties

Kevin Watson and his team have been relieved of their duties at Ashford United FC, after a disappointing season.

Ashford United would like to take this opportunity to thank Kevin, Adam and Tommy for their support and efforts this season and we wish them well for their future in football.

We now prepare and start rebuilding for a positive next season, with new ownership and management.

Watson replaced the out going Tommy Warrilow, on May 3rd 2023.

A tricky start to the seasons preparations, see training conducted in various places, while the 3G pitch went down at Homelands.

Kevin oversee 40 matches. Winning 16, drawing 6 and losing 18. With 66 goals scored and 75 conceded.

Watsons first competitive match was on August 5th - 2023: FA Cup Extra Prelim round v Hollands & Blair, which finished 3-0 to the Nuts & Bolts.
We would go on to play Beckenham Town in the Preliminary round, which we lost 3-2.

Kevin’s first league fixture was a 1-0 away win v Erith & Belvedere and last match v Littlehampton Town FC, finished with a 1-0 home win.

Some notable performances were the 3-2 home win!against an in form Sheppey United. A 7-1 v Binfield, in the FA Trophy (1st round qualifying). Followed up straight away with a 4-2 win away to Ramsgate in the Velocity cup. The start of a run which see us reach the semi finals. With wins against Hythe Town, Westfield and Hastings United, before losing to Chatham Town.

Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to wish Kevin, Adam & Tommy all the best for the future.

We can also confirm tonight that Connor Dymond has left the club and also with him well for his future endeavours.
