Former United 1st team goalkeeper joins 3rds as goalkeeper coach.

Ashford United 3rds are delighted to announce the recruitment of Goalkeeper Coach, Dan Cook.

Dan has played for numerous clubs across the SCEFL Divisions over the years including Croydon, AFC Croydon Athletic and Lydd Town and is also current goalkeeper coach at our neighbours Kennington.

Cookie joined our first team a few seasons back and some of our supporters may remember the treble save he made against former 1st team boss Gary Alexander's Greenwich Borough side.

Talking to Dan this morning he says;

"I was asked by Benn Phillips to come down and help out with the goalkeepers at Ashford United 3rds. They have 3 keepers coming to each session and he asked if I could spare some time for these guys providing them with some drill based sessions.

Although I can’t commit to every week, I will try to get down as much as I can to help these guys out and I am looking forward to seeing the progress they will make throughout this season"

Manager Roger Hadlum said,

"We are pleased to announce that Dan Cook, who some of you will remember from his days playing for the 1st team has joined our coaching staff as our goalkeeper coach.

He worked with our keepers last night and has settled in quickly and the guys certainly enjoyed working with somebody of Dan's experience and ability"

Welcome to the 3rds Dan!!
