Come and support your local side in the FA Trophy this Saturday!

This Saturday 12th October 2019 we welcome Essex side Witham Town FC to Homelands in the Preliminary Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy, kick off at 3pm.

The BetVictor League North Division side currently sit in 16th place after 8 points from 8 games in the league campaign, having only won 3 games all season including one game in the FA Cup.

We come into this match on the back of a win against local rivals Hythe Town in the Velocity Sports Trophy, when we beat them here at Homelands 2-1 on Tuesday evening thanks to goals from Lee Prescott and Levi Gold.

Witham's last three matches have ended in defeat, with their last two games being consecutive 2-1 losses against Hullbridge Sports FC and Aveley FC. Their last result was a 1-1 draw with Romford at home on September 17th, whilst they did win the game before that, 4-1 away to Histon on September 14th.

A win for either side on Saturday will see them progress into the first round qualifying which sees teams from Step 3 of non-league football (i.e. BetVictor Premier League clubs) enter the fray.

Witham's top goalscorer this season is forward George Bugg who currently sits on 6 goals.

It's also Non-League day this Saturday, which means there is no Premier League or Championship football. So if there's any Arsenal, Charlton, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Tottenham, West Ham or any other supporters you know of in Ashford who won't be at a game this weekend, come and drag them along to Homelands to support their local side!

Come on you Nuts and Bolts!
