First up, Defensive Midfielder,
Liam Overy

Nickname: Li-Li

Previous Clubs:
Great Chart FC
Pilgrims FC

Who do you support?
Arsenal

Best player played with?
Charlie Brisley because he made the game look so easy. He could turn the game on its head with a moment of magic.

I haven’t seen anyone in Sunday league able to use both feet aswell as him and I could never knock his passion towards the game.

Best player played against?
Luke Burdon, he was a handful from the get go, so comfortable on the ball and went past players with ease.

He always managed to get that half yard of space to get a shot off and you could never tell what he was going to do.

He is the most clinical striker I’ve ever come up against and made the game so much harder.

How do you feel the start of the 2019/20 season has started?
I feel like the start of this season has started better than we could of hoped for. The team have played outstanding in each game and can’t fault anyone’s work rate.

We have seen a massive improvement in our fitness and knowledge of how to break teams down due to the introduction of our coach Richard.

We have gelled a lot more since last season and are playing as a team of close friends instead of teammates which has benefited us.

3rds League Prediction
I personally feel like there is no reason why we can’t finish 1st which is where I believe we will finish.

We are improving each week and if we carry on we will only get stronger and be more of a unit. I feel teams will struggle to break us down easily and won’t match our fitness which we give us the advantage we will need in the tough games. So promotion is definitely achievable.

Personal Target for 2019/20 season.
My target for this season is improve my fitness overall, Improve my knowledge of positioning and to help push my teammates to reach their personal targets.

I want to be influential in a successful season and want to win silverware in my second season playing mens football.

I would also like to challenge myself in a more challenging league because I want to progress within football and I feel if I reach my targets I have set myself for this season I will be able to cope in the higher leagues that Ashford United 3rds which get to.
