A clean sheet for our Development side's first competitive match!

Ashford United Under 23s assistant manager Dan Scorer is positive following our development side's first competitive match since reforming for the 2019/2020 season.

Our 23s travelled away to Phoenix Sports which is always a tough place to go at any level, and came away with a point after a hard fought 0-0 draw.

Dan Scorer:

"The draw was a very fair result on the balance of things. We completed dominated the game and played some great football throughout the match. However they had the more clear cut chances and if it hadn’t have been for Azza [Aaron Lee-Wharton] in goal we could well have come away with nothing. Considering it was their first game together as a new group I was very impressed."

The boys now sit in 8th place after their first game with several other sides in The Bluefin Sports Insurance Development League South Division having played two matches.

Next up for Barry Fuller and Dan Scorer's team is Faversham Town Under 23s away on Tuesday 24th September.
