CHICHESTER CITY 1-2 ASHFORD UNITED
[i]By Keith Masters

For the second consecutive week Ashford United came from behind to claim victory, when they overcame a good Chichester City team.
Played on the ground of Bognor Regis on Saturday 25th November.

As in the previous week Ashford United started slowly and soon found themselves behind in the game.

Chichester began the game in very lively fashion. As early as the third minute Jacob Russell was called upon to save at full stretch from a Joe Moore effort.
Chichester took the lead in the 17th minute. A fierce shot from Emmett Dunn could only be parried by Jacob Russell into the path of Conrad Honore who scored easily.

Going a goal behind appeared to be the inspiration the visitors needed and they really settled and took the game to Chichester.
Vance Bola and Ian Draycott went close and Tom Carlse, making overlapping runs on the left, was causing the home defence some problems.

Ashford deservedly equalised in the 40th minute. A free kick from just outside the penalty area on the left crashed against the home bar. First to react was Vance Bola who made no mistake.

The Nuts and Bolts took the lead in stoppage time at the end of the first half. Excellent work by Tom Carlse found Ian Draycott who scored his second goal in consecutive matches.

HT - Chichester City 1-2 United

Chichester City began the second half in an apparent determined mood and put a good deal of pressure on the Ashford defence.
Happily the Ashford defence were very ably up to the challenge and defended resolutely, restricting the hosts to a few long range efforts which caused Jacob Russell in the Ashford goal very little trouble.

Ashford United very deservedly came away with the three points and continued their progress in the right direction.
